It started with a WhatsApp argument
Someone sent the wrong meme at the wrong moment. The vibe was off. The group chat went quiet. Not because the meme was offensive, but because it was the wrong one entirely. You know the difference. So did we.
We built Whamr because meme culture is real culture, and Naija meme culture especially deserves better tooling. The big global libraries do not know who Patience Ozokwo is. They do not have the 5000 Naira Pawpaw clip. They do not understand the difference between "funny naija" and just "funny." We do.
